Downtown Cleveland Law firm is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join its Accounting Department. This is a full-time non-exempt position that reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes various computerized billing software programs, e-billing, and billing portals to perform duties and responsibilities including e-billing setup/coding and management of clients, matters, and timekeepers
• Proactively review and monitor billing transactions and activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and conformance to firm policies
• Ensure proper billing protocol and established guidelines are followed
• Ability to handle a high volume of bills per month and initiate all invoices timely in accordance with client agreements and various internal deadlines
• Identifies and recommends improvements to existing procedures, and ensures the quality and integrity of the client billing process within current firm policies
• Research, analyze, and respond to billing issues and inquiries
• Perform other functions and duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3-5 years of law firm billing experience
• LMS (SurePoint), Perfect Law, Elite, Aderant, or other equivalent legal accounting software experience is a must
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Works well in a team environment
• Ability to lift a minimum of ten pounds
